[ Happy holidays! There's a little box containing a small palette with various shades of eyeshadow with a small mirror. Even though Midge doesn't celebrate Christmas, she figures the cheer will be needed. There's a note attached: ]
Rosinante, Wasn't sure about your colour palette but this should work well with your natural undertones. Enjoy! -Miriam
[Once he's done staring in shock at what he's discovered - another gift! and such a thoughtful one, from so unexpected a source! - he sends her a text.]
Thank you! I was running low on my other set. These are incredible colors!
I've never paid attention to undertones and I'm not exactly sure what that means. How do you learn about something like that?
Cosmopolitan magazine. And your mother. I used to work at the makeup counter at B. Altman (I was at Revlon lipstick! That's a very big deal. ) And I used to give instructions and lessons and demonstrations to other girls and customers. Sometimes blindfolded: I did a quick facial in under two minutes once, it was the house record before I left.
I'd be more than happy to teach you. I've never put makeup on a man before. I wonder if it's different? Want to learn together?
-Miriam
PS. I'm sorry for calling you a clown when we first met. Hand to God I would never give a clown Besame cosmetics.
Most of the people around me didn't wear makeup because it wasn't part of the Marines' uniform. I've been fumbling my way through it based on what I've seen on other people and whatever I feel like trying but I would love to learn more!
So, apology accepted if you'll show me what you know! I'll be around for a few days but I'm planning to go with a group to find Downtown starting on the 1st. I can meet you before or after!
